Filmed with a three-person crew during the summer of 2020, this project was meant to kick off a series of short documentaries that function as character studies, exploring the Theatre of the Absurd in modern society. Initially pitched for a former production company, this first film stalled once COVID ground work to a halt. Three years later, we picked it back up as a passion project under our original content arm, Daydream Labs. Selected to the Montclair Film Festival and New York Indie Shorts Awards, Bear Bronson captures a visceral and immersive exploration of underground independent wrestling, examining the sacrifices, difficulties, and payoffs that come along with that world, while asking a more universal question of why anyone does what they do.
